Hello there, and Happy New Year's Eve!I hope you've all got fabulous plans to celebrate tonight. I'm looking forward to starting a fresh new year, and can't help but get excited as that means we'll be on the home stretch towards springtime!
Today I've got a very, very simple recipe for you, that I came up with whilst at University, as a substitute to making a proper white sauce (I didn't know how to make one at the time!) Macaroni Cheese has always been one of my favourite dishes, as long as it's homemade.
It's incredibly blustery and cold out there today and I'm curled up on the sofa, still in my jammies and I don't intend on moving 'til tomorrow! I've realised this is a luxury that I actually only allow myself once a year, always around Christmas. Words can't even describe how wonderful it feels to put your (fluffy slipper-clad) feet up after spending the previous day cooking for 12 (for the first ever time) then hosting for 14.
Hello there! I hope you're all enjoying your run up to Christmas. The fact I'm even able to write a second post in the space of a week is a sure sign that things are finally beginning to ease off! It has literally been manic these last two months; working 11 hour days without so much as a 5 minute break pretty much sums it all up. Plus on top of that, trying to get ready for hosting our first Chrimble too!
Hello and happy Monday to you all! I promised another peek into my Christmas home last week so here it is! This one features my new decorations that now make my 'Heirloom Luxe' Christmas theme that I absolutely love! This beautiful vintage colour scheme is gracing our newly redecorated kitchen, which is something I will be featuring in the next Affordable Interiors chapter very soon...
Well hello, and happy weekend to you all! The festive season is well and truly upon us and it's about time I showed you what we've been up to in our Christmas home!Last weekend was the time that I'd been counting down to for a while: Decorating Day. We've done ours a lot earlier this year to give me a bit more time to primp, play and post, of course!
I think it might well be!Hello there! I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. I don't know about you, but I'm loving the fact that the season-switchover is during the weekend this time around. It means that I can enjoy and prepare, rather than having the start of a fresh new month passing me by mid-week.
Good morning! Today I have for you another Christmas recipe, or, you might say, a winter recipe. But 'tis the season for foodie indulgence and this one will certainly be gracing my buffet table on Boxing Day.On Sunday afternoon I donned my new Christmas apron, popped on Classic FM and proceeded to make a right old mess in our now fairy light-clad kitchen. Alas, it was good, Christmas mess, so all is well!
Well hello there! This last weekend has been simply wonderful, I hope you all had a good one! Mine started with the arrival of two much awaited things: My best friend: my darling Joely; and a new (!) camera. (!!!) Joely and I don't get together very often due to long distance but we certainly made the most of it with lots of lovely things over the last few days.Early Sunday morning, before the bustle of starting the roast, pottering about folding blankets and lighting candles all began, I decided to have a play with some new variations on the classic sausage roll. I'm super pleased with how they all turned out and it's really lovely to have something a little bit different to the standard sausage meat and pastry combo.
