Tablescape: Pastel Romance

by - Monday, January 27, 2014

romantic pastel valentines tablescape
So Saint Valentine's day is nearing and the holiday of love will soon be upon us! I'm not a massive fan of all the sickly red slop that covers shop windows at this time of year, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy a small hint of romance.

To me, the word romance doesn't mean bright red bubble hearts and cuddly bears with eyelashes, though. No, to me, it means soft lighting, delicate touches and subtle pastel tones nestled amongst creams and whites.

So, that's exactly what my Valentine's day table is going to look like. No mushyness and no fluorescent pink.

Just elegance, class and grace.

Soft pinks and apple greens rest together in harmony.

A potpourri of texture reflects tenderness and love.

Notes of french country style enchant and inspire.

And when day fades into evening,
and evening into night,
the romance of the pastels will forever guide the light.

Have a lovely day my friends and do let me know what your plans are for February 14th!

Much love,

  2. A beautiful post! I agree with the Valentine's Day decor. . .soft and subtle is more appropriate at this time of year, too, in my opinion. It gradually and gently prepares one for Spring and begins to usher in those awakening hues of the season.

  5. Your tablescape is so soft and romantic. Love it! Although I love red, I'm not a fan of the commercial Valentine decor either. I love the softer look. Thank you for sharing it at to What We Accomplished Wednesdays. ~Deborah
