A Phrase or Two #2 & Vila Margarida

by - Wednesday, September 19, 2012

Hello all!
Well well, time does fly. Especially when you're amidst a wonderful family reunion in sunny, sunny Portugal!

Let's hop back a little bit, however. I am a very family orientated person and since day one, P has accepted and loved this about me. He knows that my family are the most important people in the world, and he is now a part of that family. He has always been very close with my loved ones, and we all spend our time together whenever we can. P's family has been a different story though. His Mum and siblings live in the same town as us, so we get to see them fairly often, which is lovely. However, his Dad lives in Huntsville, Alabama; his Aunt & Uncle in Bogata, Colombia, and his Grandma in Scotland. So when Auntie Debs from Bogata arranged for us to all meet up for Grandma's 80th birthday in Portugal, it didn't seem all that far to travel.

Due to the distances between P and his family members, I had only ever met his Dad once, and that was back in the first two weeks of us dating. So it was safe to say I was a tad nervous about meeting a bunch of new people! However, as soon as we got out to the beautiful Vila Margarida in Praia da Luz, everyone instantly made me feel part of the family.

We had a wonderful holiday that felt like it lasted forever, and made really good friends with people I can now truly call my family.

On return from holiday last weekend, however, all ten of us managed to catch Gastro Enteritis. I was the last to contract it, and am still recovering at the moment. I've been cooped up at home for the last three days, and am utterly bored of feeling ill. I never knew I'd say it, but I can't actually wait to get back to work!

So, because of this, and the fact that I am coming to the end of my third day stuck in bed, my phrase for today is somewhat of one very much taken for granted, but so welcome to me right now.

It is this:

Fresh air.

I'll leave that with you for today, and will get back to recovering, and hopefully, back to work tomorrow.
